Shortcuts are the key to saving time. Whether we realize it or not, we’re constantly on the hunt for the quickest ways to get from point A to point B. That goes for the secret routes we use to go home, the PowerPoint slides we go through so that we don’t have to read our textbooks for school, or those keyboard shortcuts we remember for all sorts of purposes-such as copy and pasting.
Understanding how to do things simpler helps us become more productive individuals; it enables us to waste less time by avoiding unnecessary steps. We can use the time we save for something else, like reading more tech tips.

For MAC users
Open new tab: command + N
Close current tab: command + shift + W
Reopen last tab closed: command + shift + T
View next tab: command + alt + right arrow key
View previous tab: command + alt + left arrow key
Switch to a specific tab (first 8 tabs): command + 1, command + 2,…etc.
Open hyperlinked text in new tab: command + click link
Open hyperlinked text in new window: shift + click link
Put cursor in search bar: command + L
Erase current search: command + delete
Highlight next word in search: shift + alt + right arrow key
Highlight previous word in search: shift + alt + left arrow key
Go back to previous page: delete
