It’s not uncommon to forget or lose a Windows 7 login password. We have to deal with so many passwords for different social media, email and bank accounts that sometimes it just slips our minds. Otherwise, we may have written the password down but lost it somewhere.
Not to worry though, there’s a way of getting access to your computer again.
Here’s how:
Step 1.
Make sure your computer is completely off and not in sleep mode
Step 2.
Turn on your computer and immediately tap the F8 button until a list pops up
Step 3.
Choose “safe mode with command prompt”
Step 4.
At the first screen that pops up, click SHIFT + F10 and the command prompt should pop up
Step 5.
When you get to the login screen, log into the account named “Administrator”
Step 6.
Click on the start menu and type “cmd” to open the command prompt
Step 7.
Type “net user ‘______’ *”
Step 8.
Type in your desired password and again for verification
Step 9.
Log in using the new password you just set
