Have you ever came across a computer component and wondered what it was called? This goes for any ports, sockets, or hardware you’ve seen. Well, you’re not the only one. There’s probably an entire list of computer components that can’t be identified by even the biggest computer geeks out there.
Ever since computers were invented, computer hardware engineers haven’t stopped coming out with new components. This means it’s nearly impossible for us to know the name of all of the components let alone what they do because there’s just too many. We’re talking about over 70 years worth of stuff here guys – that’s hundreds of different parts.
However, in 2009, a computer technician also noticed this problem and decided to collect computer components to create a chart with (we’re going to call him Sonic840 because that’s the name of his Deviant Art account). Sonic840 had customers that couldn’t tell the difference between the different types of RAM, so he’d take pictures of RAM modules and make a chart from it to help his customers. That one thing led to another and before he knew it, he was collecting whatever computer components he could find.
The Ultimate List of Computer Components
Thanks to Sonic840‘s hard work, we now have a chart helps us distinguish different computer components. It contains an almost complete picture collection of RAM, CPU sockets, media connectors, motherboard slots, power connectors and more! Must’ve taken a lot of time and dedication to take all of these images… what a hero.
The link to download the computer hardware chart is attached below. It’s a huge file so make sure you save it so that you can view it in its original resolution. It’s big enough for you to make a poster out of it if you really wanted to.
